They don't tell you what marriage and married life is going to be like. No one can prepare you for the future, it's too random. But for Sasuke Uchiha, if that meant falling in love all over again to Karin Uzumaki-? He'll gladly take the leap.

It was their first anniversary of marriage. One whole year and it was quite the ride:

Itachi's near death, attacks on the village, killing Orochimaru, and so much more! It would be enough to drive anyone completely mad, yet it was through the craziness that he was able to fall in love with Karin.

It was odd at first for the both of them naturally. Karin felt more like a young fangirl than an actual girlfriend, but as they got to know each other, they broke out of their comfort circles.

To him, she was a strong, intelligent, and fun loving woman. She was as fiery as her red Uzumaki hair, and Sasuke adored it even down to the marks that decorate her skin. He was gentle with her, wanted to let her know that with him there would be no more pain or suffering.

He held her close to him while they slept. The sun hadn't rise yet and it was still dark. His hands gently caressing her skin as she slept peacefully. This was his wife of one year, and he was definitely ready for more years.

Weekly Oneshot Challenge - week 15

“Kakashi! Kakashi you’re not gonna believe it!” Kakashi didn’t even look up from his book as the absolute whirlwind in human form that everyone else knew as the new farmer burst into the adventurer’s guild hall. The door ricocheted off the wall with a bang. Even from his distance from the door, Kakashi could smell musty earth and slime ooze. Nauto didn’t seem deterred by Kakashi’s obvious disinterest. He bounced over toward the desk with a grin that was audible in his voice. “I met one of the monster slayer goals!”

Now that was impressive, if not exactly what he had expected out of the farmer. Naruto’s main approach to anything he wanted to do was just to forge on with sheer bullheadedness and a smile. It reminded Kakashi of Naruto’s mother, if he was honest with himself. Kakashi finally looked up over the edge of his book, raising an eyebrow and giving the practically squirming Naruto a reaction. “Oh?”

Naruto threw his hands up in the air. Ooze splattered in every direction, including a few choice globs hitting the ceiling with a splat. Kakashi could gleefully imagine the despair and disgust on Tenzo’s face at the sight, so he didn’t complain. “I killed a thousand slimes! I did it!” 

“Did you wear their remains up here on purpose, or…?”

“Whatever, old man!” But despite his tone, Naruto was still smiling. “I told you I could do it.”

Kakashi lowered his book to really look at the young man. Smiling like that, an absolute mess and so proud of himself, he really did look just like his mother. It was no wonder that Naruto could meet such a lofty goal, as Kushina had been one of the most lauded adventurers on the continent. But Kakashi didn’t say any of this. Instead he offered Naruto a little smile of his own. “Only eleven more to go, then.”

“Oh, come on!”
